Our sweet little boy is off and running... literally! On the morning of October 12th, just a few days past his 11 month birthday, little Li let go of the coffee table and made a beeline for Nealey, at a run, while mommy and daddy looked on, transfixed. Alas, he only made it about 4 steps before face-planting into the rug. He has since tried this trick a few more times, with a similar outcome. How do you rationalize with a baby: "Go slower and you'll have more control, darling."? Crawling is still fun, crawling so fast you practically somersault is better, but I can see that soon walking will trump them all. Great...

In other news- our boy is so smart! He has joyfully mastered waving, and will wave hello and goodbye to anyone on command. Better still, if he hears you use the word "bye" in a sentence, he will start waving to the world. His second favorite greeting is the "ET touch", the extended index finger ready to "touch" another. Very cute.
